Will (Ben Foster) and his teenage daughter, Tom (Thomasin Harcourt McKenzie), have lived off the grid for years in Forest Park, a beautiful nature reserve near Portland, Oregon, rarely making contact with the world. But when a small mistake tips them off to authorities and their idyllic life is shattered, they are sent on an increasingly erratic journey in search of a place to call their own.
The film received universal critical acclaim, with praise for the performances of Foster and McKenzie. The film critic Mark Kermode named Leave No Trace his favourite film of 2018 and the film holds an approval rating of 100% on the review aggregator website Rotten Tomatoes.
The film is directed by Debra Granik from a script adapted by Granik and Anne Rosellini and based on the novel My Abandonment by Peter Rock.
