From master story teller Guillermo del Toro comes an other-worldly fable, set against the backdrop of Cold War era America circa 1962. The film received many awards and nominations, including 13 Oscar nominations, winning Best Picture, Best Director, Best Production Design, and Best Original Score.

In the hidden high-security government laboratory where she works, lonely Elisa (Sally Hawkins) is trapped in a life of isolation. Elisa’s life is changed forever when she and co-worker Zelda (Octavia Spencer) discover a classified secret - an amphibious creature that is held captive. She then develops a unique relationship with the creature.

The Shape of Water almost drowns in its own gorgeousness. It is a Beauty and the Beast fable where both get to be beautiful and neither has to be beastly.
